Flashback…
So Mike sent me these the other day, it’s some of the design files from NCYC’99 which was in Geelong. I thought I’d throw up an image or two to see whether it made anyone feel old.
I still don’t know if I believe them when people tell me they actually scanned a dead fish… I’m sure someone can prove it.
Also, stay tuned, the website will finally start regenerating intself soon - all automagic-like, isn’t it exciting?

Yes, we did.
We scanned a fish wrapped in plastic wrap.
That scanner cost $1800 back in 1996, and we put a fish on it. Ah, 1996 - the heady days of Photoshop 3.0 on a PowerMac 6100 with a 14″ screen. I still have both the scanner and the 6100 in the attic somewhere… I do not still have the fish, though.

I’m glad Mike’s confirmed that the fish was actually scanned, because everywhere I went through the Promo tour for ‘99 people kept asking me how we got the image, and I had to say: “Well, I think they bought a fish from the Vic Market and actually scanned it…” No-one believed me. Actually, maybe a couple of people did. I didn;t realise it was using Photoshop 3.0 on a PowerMac 6100 though. They might have believed me if I’d said that…

Interestingly, Napoleon has been spotted again, quite recently…

How time flies… I remember the skeletal fish very well. It’s burnt into my retina after screen printing all the t-shirts.
