Not happy just attending NCYC? Just slightly over the age limit for delegates? Want to DO something for NCYC09? Then get involved with NCYC in any number of areas. Checkout the sections above for information on each of them.
All leaders 18 years old and over who will come into contact with children (Victoria’s definition of children is under 18 years old) are required by law to obtain a Working With Children check. Read the WWCC section for more details.
We’ll have all the information on every area you can volunteer for up soon, but for now, if you know what we’re talking about, just fill in the form below and we’ll be in touch!

Have you had any ideas what the adult volunteers would be doing yet?

Hi Lyn,
Absolutely. Some of the roles that these wonderful people will be asked to undertake are:
Drivers
Support at accommodation venues
Additional hands for set up and pack up days
Stewards/Ushers
Registration Assistant
… and other things of course but those should help give you a bit of an idea.

NCYC is a ministry of the Uniting Church in Australia to young people. Volunteers and staff are asked to recognise that in assisting with this ministry they serve by not only offering their time and talents, but also the giving of money in the form of their registration.
This is an issue of justice and equality. Most of the income for NCYC09 will come from registrations. If the costs of volunteers were to be subsidised the registration fees would have to be increased. As we are looking at hundreds of volunteers in total, the increase would be considerable. Having a policy that everyone pays is the only way that the church can offer this kind of ministry without the costs becoming prohibitive to delegates.
Adult Volunteer costs are intended to cover the actual costs of volunteering:
Full (accommodation, food and admin charges included): $360
Own accommodation (food and admin charges included): $200
There are day rates available for Adult Volunteers also, contact the office for more info.
Costs for the children’s programs (0-5 and 6-11) are still being finalised, but will be about $170 for the full week, or $40 per day. Accommodation is assumed to be with parents, meals are included as well as program content.
More details on the range of roles for Adult Volunteers will be online shortly!
