Prayer Point 5

August 26th, 2008

Heavenly Father,

May we feel your presence within and around us always.

May we gather knowing that each of us though from different places and backgrounds are one in your presence and spirit.
Seeking always your kingdom first.

Guide each of those working in the NCYC office… and all the leaders and their teams who are working hard to get everything ready for NCYC.

Give us strength when we are weak and comfort when we are afraid.

Alll these things and the unspoken prayers of all those around this world be heard. Lord in your Mercy. Hear our Prayer

In the Name of Christ, Amen

New Look!

May 26th, 2008

Howdy!

We have a new look to the prayers in the blog!

The publication of prayers for NCYC will continue to be a feature of this Blog and we would like you to pray this prayer for NCYC09 or at least to use it as a tool to help you in your prayers for NCYC09. You can copy this and use as much as you like.  Furthermore, if you have a special issue or need or group or team for which you would like to have prayers published, please let the Chaplain to the Management Committee, Rev Ron Townsend (townserh@mlc.vic.edu.au) know and include a couple of dot points which might be included in the prayer. Here is the first prayer:

Lord

We are struck dumb by the immensity and the wonder of your love for us. Throughout time you have revealed your love for all human beings and for your creation. This love is precious to us Lord, it is the ‘stuff of life’ and we feel strengthened and uplifted by it, even when matters are not going well for us.

We thank you for your love which is revealed to us through your youthful followers, especially in young people (and not so young people, now!) who have attended past NCYCs. May your gift of love in them continue to strengthen and uphold your church and the world.

Open the hearts of young people to hear your call to follow your Son. In particular, Lord, we pray for the young people coming to or considering coming to NCYC 09; that they will discover in this event, in the life of your church, the power of the love of Jesus in their lives.

Bless all who are working to make NCYC 09 happen. Especially we ask your blessing upon those staffing the NCYC09 office: Rohan, Kim, Mick, Sam and the interns.

These prayers we pray in Jesus name

Amen

Prayer for John Garrett

April 20th, 2008

After an NCYC09 presentation to the Presbytery of Port Phillip East [1.5Mb map] yesterday morning, when the new promo video was turned up LOUD and Kaitlyn did a fantastic presentation sharing how important NCYC is to her faith and life journey, one of the presbytery members John Garrett had a serious medical turn.

I was wearing my NCYC09 polo shirt (bright red!!), which was really handy for directing the medics straight to the patient.

John was taken by ambulance to hospital, and was rather unwell (code for seriously sick). So please keep John and his wife Bev in your prayers.
Somers Camp and NCYC09 both had great energetic promotional spots at the presbytery meeting, but I don’t think we need to add a health warning when the NCYC09 promo DVDs are ready for distribution at the end of the month.

So to use the words of the Presbytery Secretary Faye, we all hold John and Bev in our prayers at this time and may God’s comfort be their support.

As we continue praying for the NCYC staff, Rohan, Kim and Mick.

Let’s this week include in our prayers the people working on the program of NCYC 09, who need to think about the overall picture of what it will look like, and also how long it will take people to walk from their bible study to the next thing…

Keep praying… as God is always listening
