Festival Time will be a place in the program where a range of events are run around the main venue and you can participate at your own pace in the different areas. Anything from sporting and recreational activities, talking to mission and ministry organisations, a chat with coffee, to challenging debates and panels. There will be spaces in which you will be able to hear from and talk to key note speakers, bible study leaders and other special guests. No doubt there will be something for everyone!

The events and activities will run in half hour or hour long sessions. There will be no sign up to these events prior to convention but there might be some sign up for events, which have restricted numbers, during convention.

The events during Festival time will fall under three categories:
SURFING: sports, art, creative installations, recreation and other activities
SNORKELLING: simulations, discussing resources, reflective spaces and Mission Mart - a chance to engage with a range of organisations involved in mission and ministry.
SCUBA DIVING: Panels, debates, workshops, hot houses and focus sessions with input from key speakers, bible study leaders and other special guests.

Surfing, Snorkelling, Scuba Diving?

Surfing, Snorkelling, Scuba Diving is an approach that NCYC09 is taking to ensure a range and diversity of activities occur during convention.

The concept’s focus is around how deep you want to go into the theme and theology of the convention. We are acknowledging that at different parts of the convention you will just want to have a play around or withdraw and look from afar. At other times you will want to go a little deeper but not too close and then at other times you will want to get up close and personal with God.

By taking the ‘Surfing, Snorkelling, Scuba Diving Approach’ we will be catering for you! If you have just heard about God and are keen to explore the grace of Jesus then NCYC09 will be a place for you if feel enthused, challenged and loved. If you committed yourself to be a follower of Jesus when you 10 years old then NCYC09 will also be a place for you to feel enthused, challenged and loved.

In the program of NCYC09 we will be providing spaces for you to spiritually surf, snorkel or scuba dive!
