Free Public Rally, Federation Square

Tuesday 6 January, 6.30pm - 8:30pm
Fed Square, Melbourne

Featuring Shane Claiborne and the awesome band Scat!

NCYC09 is taking it to the streets! After the day of Submersions, we’re all going to meet up in the centre of Melbourne – Federation Square – to celebrate our experiences and to tell the world what we stand for.

The amazingly inspirational Shane Claiborne will be speaking, and the very funky band Scat will be performing. It’ll be a great party after an incredible day!

We want to share this experience with as many people as possible – that’s why we’re doing this in such a public place! So invite everyone you know: friends, congregations, work colleagues – it’s free!

If you’ve got ANY questions, contact the office or just call 1300 00 NCYC (6292).

Is the worship on the Saturday night open to the public?

  2. Rohan Says:

Yes indeedy, but get there early!

NCYC’s opening worship on Saturday 3rd January 2009 is open to the public, so come along to MLC’s main hall to be part of the excitement.

Pre-service singing starts at 6:30pm, led by the fantastic NCYC09 Worship Band (have you bought your CD+DVD yet?)
Worship is at 7:00pm (but get there earlier to get a good vantage point!)

Robyn Whitaker will be preaching and Amie Dural will be participating, along with the Uniting Church President Rev Gregor Henderson, and the President-elect Rev Alistair Macrae.

Then hang around afterwards for the great bands playing at Nightlife!

[…] Have been at NCYC, briefing some of the delegates about what we’re going to be doing for Submersion Day tomorrow. (There is a public rally at 6:30pm tomorrow, at Fed Square, which Shane Claiborne is speaking at.) Tonight Mehrin’s organised a party on the roof for me.
