LRC @ GWUC and SOC: I’m still hoarse!
The Live Recording Concert at Glen Waverley Uniting Church and Scotch Oakburn College (via a live stream) on Saturday was a huge and fantastic event!
Thanks to everyone at GWUC and all the other volunteers who pitched in to set up, run, and pack down the LRC. The band did a fantastic job leading us in learning and enjoying the great new music for NCYC09. The tech crew did a fantastic job of converting GWUC into a very different space for the duration, and then returning it ready for 8am worship the next morning. Other volunteers did a great job of feeding us, keeping our energy up with coffee or sugar, or helping people pre-order the CD+DVD and Songbook. Norm and Ncyc turned up to check the sound levels. Even Shane’s two books and the warm NCYC09 hoodies were on sale. The Tassie crew held Mick hostage, and Nat shared a prayer back across the Strait. The Samoan choir shared with us, as did Robyn Whitaker. I now know what a VJ can do, and it’s good!
And most significantly over a couple of hundred young people (and some not so young) shared a great night worshipping God together in song and movement.
Thanks again to everyone involved, especially the three at the heart who really carried the vision into reality and pulled the rest of us together: Jesse, Russell and Di.
I’ve ordered my CD+DVD and songbook, and now can’t wait to see how great they will come up. I’m not counting on hearing my own voice though
